Caroline Legros is the Education Coordinator for the Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) at Virginia Commonwealth University. She oversees the ICA’s group tour logistics, acting as a liaison between the ICA and visiting guests. To support the ICA’s focus on high school-aged visitors, she is helping to develop teacher and student materials that invite exploration of our new building. Legros is also part of the ICA’s cross-departmental evaluation team that will report on future visitor outcomes.
Before joining the ICA, Legros was a member of the education team at the Virginia Historical Society (VHS) for more than 15 years. During that time, she managed all in‐house educational programs. In her work with teachers and students, she created curriculum guides, educational videos, and digital resource materials. She was also part of the cross-departmental curatorial committee that redesigned The Story of Virginia permanent collection installation. In 2016, Legros curated the exhibition Illustrated Treasures, which focused on illustrations from children’s books within the VHS’s collection.
Legros holds a BA in French from VCU (2005) and has lived in Richmond since relocating from the Washington, D.C., area to pursue her degree. She looks forward to connecting the city’s students, teachers, and community members with the exciting programming that will take place at the ICA.
