Chelsea Neal is the Marketing and Production Assistant at the Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She is responsible for managing project workflow and the ICA’s digital communications, primarily the e-news and social media programs.
Neal has held various positions at several cultural institutions around Richmond, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Visual Arts Center of Richmond, and Maymont. Prior to joining ICA, she served as Publications Assistant at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts where she specialized in production management, writing and editing, and front-end web content management.
Neal earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, where she graduated with honors in Art History. Her research interests center around political and social influences on Renaissance and Baroque art as well as cross-cultural interactions throughout art history.
As a Richmond native, Neal is thrilled to join ICA’s inaugural team and looks forward to being a part of the Institute’s exciting impact on her hometown.
