Lesley has spent the last 20 years telling the stories of organizations and people throughout Richmond, VA, and beyond. As Communications Manager at the ICA, she will oversee the presentation of this exciting new contemporary arts institution to the public, with a particular focus on connecting the ICA to the broader Richmond community.
Prior to her arrival at the ICA, Lesley was a strategic planning consultant with Floricane, a local boutique agency that guides organizations through various phases of strategic development. From 2011 to 2015, she was the Communications Director for the Greater Richmond Chamber (now ChamberRVA), a regional membership organization representing nine jurisdictions.
She also has managed communications, marketing, and public relations for The Valentine, the city museum of Richmond, as well as the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education in Washington, DC.
A graduate of VCU’s Mass Communications program, Lesley began her career covering local arts and culture for Richmond alt-weekly Punchline, and freelancing for various publications, including Richmond.com and RVANews. She holds a Master of Arts in Media and Public Affairs from the George Washington University, sits on the Board of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, and is attempting to gracefully raise a three year old daughter.
